The liver is the largest internal organ and one of the most metabolically active organs in the human body. It performs more than 500 essential physiological functions, including carbohydrate metabolism, protein synthesis, lipid metabolism, detoxification, bile production, vitamin storage, and immune regulation. The liver possesses a remarkable ability to regenerate following injury; however, persistent metabolic stress and chronic inflammation eventually impair its regenerative capacity, resulting in irreversible fibrosis and cirrhosis. Fatty liver disease is characterized by excessive accumulation of triglycerides within hepatocytes. Under normal physiological conditions, fat constitutes less than 5% of liver weight. When fat accumulation exceeds this threshold, hepatic steatosis develops. Persistent fat accumulation initiates oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammatory responses, and fibrosis that may progress to liver failure and hepatocellular carcinoma. Historically, fatty liver disease was categorized into alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). In 2023, an international consensus replaced the term NAFLD with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) to better reflect the metabolic basis of the disease and eliminate the negative definition of "non-alcoholic." Patients with hepatic steatosis accompanied by obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, or other metabolic abnormalities are now classified as having MASLD. MASLD has become one of the most important public health challenges of the 21st century. Current evidence indicates that approximately one in every three adults worldwide has fatty liver disease. The prevalence continues to increase among children, adolescents, and young adults because of rising obesity, physical inactivity, excessive consumption of processed foods, and sugar-sweetened beverages. India is experiencing a rapid epidemiological transition characterized by urbanization, sedentary occupations, changing dietary patterns, and increasing prevalence of obesity and diabetes mellitus. These changes have substantially increased the incidence of fatty liver disease. Urban populations demonstrate a higher prevalence compared with rural populations, although the disease is now increasingly recognized in rural communities as well. The disease is often referred to as a "silent epidemic" because most individuals remain asymptomatic during the early stages. Consequently, many patients are diagnosed only after significant liver damage has occurred. Early identification through screening of high-risk individuals and timely lifestyle intervention can effectively reverse hepatic steatosis and prevent progression to advanced liver disease. Nurses and other healthcare professionals play an indispensable role in health promotion, patient education, dietary counselling, weight management, diabetes control, and long-term follow-up. Community-based awareness programmes, early screening initiatives, and evidence-based lifestyle interventions are essential to reduce the growing burden of fatty liver disease in India.

The sports textile industry has experienced remarkable transformation with the integration of nanotechnology and smart textile systems. Smart nano-engineered sports textiles are designed to improve athletic performance, comfort, safety, and sustainability through the incorporation of nanoparticles, nanofibers, conductive materials, and wearable sensing technologies. These advanced textiles offer multifunctional properties such as moisture management, antimicrobial protection, ultraviolet radiation shielding, thermal regulation, self-cleaning capability, and real-time physiological monitoring. The convergence of nanotechnology and wearable electronics has enabled the development of intelligent sportswear capable of collecting and transmitting data related to heart rate, body temperature, respiration, and physical activity. In addition to performance enhancement, sustainability has become an important focus in the development of nano-textiles, encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly materials and resource-efficient manufacturing processes. This review explores recent innovations in smart nano-engineered sports textiles, examines their applications in sports and fitness, discusses sustainability considerations, and highlights future research opportunities. The study concludes that nano-engineered sports textiles have the potential to redefine the future of athletic apparel by combining functionality, intelligence, and environmental responsibility.

The Battle of Plassey, fought on 23 June 1757, was one of the most decisive events in Indian history. It brought the decline of the independent rule of Bengal and marked the rise of the British East India Company as a territorial power. While many historians have written about Siraj-ud-Daulah's fall and Robert Clive's success, less attention has been given to the loyalty and sacrifices of two important figures--Mir Madan, the Bakshi or chief commander, and Mohan Lal, the trusted Diwan of the Nawab. Both men stood by their ruler in the face of betrayal, treachery, and overwhelming odds. This paper studies their lives, their role in the battle, and why their courage could not prevent defeat. Using primary documents such as the Fifth Report and Persian chronicles, alongside modern scholarship, this paper argues that their memory deserves a central place in the story of Bengal's fragile legacy.

Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) is a mental health condition characterized by a pattern of compulsive and excessive engagement with online video games. The primary aspect of IGD, according to the American Psychiatric Association (APA), is long hours of gaming (8-10 hours or more per day or 30 hours per week), which leads to a decrease and abandonment of regular tasks. The prevalence of IGD is higher among adolescents and young adults, who are often more engaged in online gaming. There were limited comprehensive studies specifically focused on the prevalence of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) in India. Adolescents are more vulnerable to IGD since they had more free time during the Covid-19 lockdown. Excessive gaming may interfere with a child's ability to focus on schoolwork and extracurricular activities, potentially leading to a decline in academic performance. Loving-Kindness Meditation (LKM), has been studied extensively and used as a coping technique for various mental health conditions, including addiction and impulse control disorders. It facilitates top-down regulation of the cognitive process, thereby proving conscious cognitive control over the automatic addictive impulses. Based on purposive sampling technique a sample consisting of 20 (10 for LKM (experimental) and the other 10 for TAU (control) group adolescents under treatment as usual were selected from schools in Bilaspur District, C.G. The intervention took place in two stages. The first stage was assessment phase and informative. The second stage was the modification of patient's maladaptive thinking. There was no significant difference found between LKM and TAU group regarding age (Mann Whitney value=41.50; p value =0.515). There was no significant difference found between LKM and TAU group regarding education (U value= 46.00; p value = 0.744). Results were indicating that, intervention group showed significant improvement in gaming addiction, sensation seeking tendency, psychological well beings and self-esteem level by developing better emotional regulatory and coping skills and distress tolerance level. Improvements were observed in self-kindness domain, spiritual growth and emotional regulation as well. The post intervention results are indicating that, intervention group (LKM+TAU) shows significant improvement in mindfulness levels and significant facets contributing towards the growth in mindfulness post intervention were: observing; describing; acting with awareness; and non-judging of inner experience. A major limitation to the current study was the small sample size. With larger samples, more subtle changes in mean scores could be detected over time. Long term effects of LKM could not be assessed. Thus, it cannot be commented whether the beneficial effects of MBCBT are maintained.

Workplace now place nearly as much emphasis on personality development and motivation as they do on the structural requirements of the organisation . Personality development is crucial in the workplace as having the correct personality and social skills make it easier to collaborate with others and communicate with coworkers.Students are able to make more acquaintances and be more gregarious at educational institutions where they have a solid rapport with others. The pupils are well-presented and engage in interaction. One's personality, values, attitudes, behaviors, and overall perspective on life can all be influenced by spiritual intelligence, a higher degree of intelligence. It's the capacity to draw on spiritual wisdom to resolve day-to-day issues and receive direction from within. Some claim that the development of mature traits like wisdom, compassion, integrity, joy, love, creativity, and peace can be attributed to spiritual intelligence. Multiple methods of knowing and the connection of the inner life of mind and spirit with the outside life of working in the world are requirements for spiritual intelligence. Neha (2017) found that spiritual intelligence can be developed with practice, investigation, and questing.
